Welcome to the Saskatoon Kendo Club
The Saskatoon Kendo Club was founded in 1981 by Ken Miyaoka.
Miyaoka-sensei has over 50 years experience and holds the rank of nanadan (7th degree).
Since the club was founded, dozens of people have attained a rank of 1st degree or higher.
The club currently has about 50 members and practices at the YMCA in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Our annual seminar is held every February.

Congratulations, Asai-sensei and Wall-sensei
At the recent gradings held in Etobicoke on November 27 and Steveston on December 3, Juhachi Asai and Lance Wall passed
godan (5th degree). Congratulations to them both!
2012 Saskatoon Seminar, March 2-4
Our annual seminar will be held first weekend in March. We are pleased to announce the main instructor will be Daisuke
Hayashi from the University of Victoria Kendo Club. Assisting Hayashi-sensei will be Akiko Fukushima and Takashi Yamada, both
of Vancouver kendo club.
The hotel for the seminar is the Colonial Square. The booking is under Saskatoon Kendo Club,
the rate is $109 and the deadline is January 31st.
Last class in 2011 is December 18
The new winter term starts with an open house class on Sunday, January 8. See our
